A FREE GIFT FROM GOD

It is often said, “The best things in life are free.” It has also been stated, “Nothing is ever free, for it always costs someone something.” Perhaps both statements are true, and the best things in life come at the expense of others.

The Bible says, “The gift of God is eternal life” (Rom. 6:23). The greatest thing about this gift is that it is absolutely FREE! It was already paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ when he died on the cross. He died in the place of every sinner; and, in doing so, he satisfied God’s wrath toward our sins. He died as our substitute. “Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8).

Because all sin has been paid for by the sufferings of Christ on the cross (I John 2:2), God offers a pardon to every sinner that is seeking deliverance. The cost has been covered, and now salvation is available to all who will call upon his name. This pardon can be received when the guilty sinner believes on the Lord Jesus Christ for his salvation. Personally exercise your faith in his person and in his finished work of redemption and atonement. He died for your sins (I Cor. 15:3). There is no gift more valuable than eternal life, and there is also no way of earning or paying for this offer on your own. It is available only through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Col. 1:14). Offering your goodness or righteousness to God will never result in his acceptance. Those who receive this free gift can say along with the scripture, ”Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us” (Titus 3:5).

The only requirement is that you first turn from what you hope will gain you favor with God. Realize that your good works and religious acts are worth nothing to a holy God. He demands that your trust be in his Son and in the work that He accomplished for you on the cross. Repent of trusting in your religion and, by faith, receive Jesus Christ alone as your Saviour (Acts 20:21). There is only one way to heaven, and Jesus is that way (John 14:6, I Peter 3:18). What cost him everything is offered as a FREE gift to you. “The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom. 6:23). It is essentially a FREE ticket out of hell and a FREE home in heaven—an all in one FREE gift! Please receive God’s gift today. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom. 10:13).
